When Jira or Confluence is responding slow or not at all users will inform the Jira administrators.

The Jira administrator will check the performance if it occur for multiple users, if it does then Infra team should be contacted by sending a mail  with High Importance to YME_Servicedesk <Servicedesk@yamaha-motor.nl>

This mail will be registered in M42 and assigned to Infra structure team. 

Step-by-step guide

When Jira or Confluence is responding slow or not at all users will inform the Jira administrators.

  1. The Jira administrator will check the performance if it occur for multiple users
    a. If it effect a single users have the user check their internet connection and reload a page by using F5 (refresh)
    b. If it effects multiple users the Jira administrator send a mail  with High Importance to YME_Servicedesk <Servicedesk@yamaha-motor.nl> This mail will be registered in M42 and assigned to Infra structure team. 
  2. The Jira administrator informs all teammembers that Infra team is contacted and keep them posted by adding a comment to the general section under YMENV_Teams_IS.

    a. If  a restart of the server is needed all users need be be informed to save their work and inform the time when restart will be done and when the restart is finished.
    b. If issue is resolved inform all users.

Jira/Confluence server response slow or not responding

Following action need to be taken  by YME Infra structure department

  1. Note date and time of issue occurrence
  2. Check if Jira server is running and if CPU and memory access is sufficient
  3. Log on to the server and (as root) run the following commands:
    top -b -n 5 > top

    free -m > free

    vmstat 5 10 > vmstat

    df -hP > df

  4. Raise a ticket at Avisi support (first line) and include the generated log files to the ticket.
