In general, we do not encourage the development of external websites. They often lead to confusion for customers, and create an inconsistent brand experience. There are also risks when it comes to compliance. As a distributor, you may have identified some missing feature on the Yamaha-Motor.eu (Adobe Experience Cloud) platform. We understand that in such cases, you may be looking to engage with your local agency and develop an external website.

However, we do kindly request that you follow our guidelines and process. The process is explained below.

Process for distributors developing external websites

StepDescription
1Distributor has identified a gap between their (website) needs and what our current platform can offer.
2Before planning an external website, distributors writes an e-mail to Digital.Marketing@Yamaha-Motor.eu explaining the needs and what features they would need to satisfy this need.
3YME Digital Marketing team will analyze the request, see what can be done with the current platform(s).
4YME Digital Marketing team will plan a meeting with the distributor to discuss and come to a conclusion.
5

In case all parties agree that an external website needs to be built, YME Digital Marketing will seek approval from relevant stakeholders in YME:

  • YME Marketing Division Manager
  • YME Digital Marketing & CRM Department Manager

6

Final GO/NO GO decision is shared with distributor.

If external website is approved, YME Digital Marketing will share some best practices and policies that are mandatory to follow. For example, using Google Analytics is no longer allowed by YME Compliance Department, and a proper cookie management solution needs to be in place.
